Our Industry Partnerships
In February 2010, CRT announced its first major alliance with a biopharmaceutical, AstraZeneca, to create ‘cancer metabolism drugs’. A team of scientists from the Discovery Laboratories (DL) and AstraZeneca’s Cancer Research Centre are working together, using their combined knowledge and expertise to develop small molecules which attempt to target the changes to a cells metabolism.
This alliance was closely followed in March by an exclusive partnership with Cephalon, Inc, an international biotechnology company, to collaborate on the development of small molecule inhibitors. The aim of this partnership is for DL to generate pre-clinical candidate molecules for development by Cephalon into new drug therapies for cancer patients.
Both collaborations represent significant milestones in the development and reputation of CRT Discovery Laboratories.
