CD49d (integrin alpha 4) is a 150 kDa protein characterised by a large extracellular domain involved in ligand binding, a single transmembrane domain, and an intracellular regulatory domain. Hetrodimers are formed with integrin beta 1 and 7. BU49 induces phosphorylation of a cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) in the human monocyte-like cell line, U937.
