In-house Lawyer

Ref: CRT240112
Location: Central London
Closing date: Fri February 24 2012

Up to £75,000 + bonus of up to 15% of salary + benefits dependent on experience

We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual who wishes to increase their exposure to excellent quality transactional work, contribute to business strategy, experience fresh challenges, pioneer new models for supporting medical research, and to play a part in beating cancer.

You will be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with at least two years’ experience of drafting commercial IP contracts, have excellent communication and team working skills and the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, think strategically and work under pressure. Self-motivation, good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others are also essential qualities, as is a passion to make a difference to the lives of those with cancer. Exposure to the biotechnology or pharmaceutical or technology transfer sectors gained in-house or in private practice would be a distinct advantage.

CRT’s lawyers are exposed to a wide range of complex and demanding commercial issues which require creative solutions. Key responsibilities include structuring, drafting and negotiating with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, universities and research institutes, a wide range of commercial agreements including patent and know-how licences, research collaborations, complex multi-project alliances, and spin-out company agreements.

Our continued success in supporting Cancer Research UK’s vision of beating cancer depends upon the drive, passion and dedication of our team of lawyers. We offer a supportive working environment and are committed to the personal development of our employees.
