Hit-to-Lead

This project aims at developing lead compounds with well-defined selectivity for CDK9, a promising therapeutic target in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, as well as compounds with activity against CDK9 and other CDKs. Inhibition of CDK9 has been shown to overcome cellular resistance to apoptosis in CLL cells through inhibition of transcription. One promising series of hit compounds has been identified and patented and further medicinal chemistry efforts are underway.
