Anti Glycophorin A Clone JC159 Profile

Antigen: Glycophorin A
Clone: JC159
Subclass IgG1
Species Raised In:

Mouse

Immunogen: Membrane preparation from splenic hairy cell leukaemia cells
Cross Reactivity:

Human

Applications: FACS, Frozen, Paraffin embedded
Growth Conditions:

RPMI 1640 + 10% FCS + penicillin (100U/ml) + streptomycin (100mg/l) + glutamine (2mM) + HAT

Fusion Partner: NS1
Synonyms: PAS-2, Sialoglycoprotein alpha, MN sialoglycoprotein, GYPA, GPA
Relevance: Glycophorin A (GpA) is a 131 amino acid sialoglycoprotein that spans the membrane once and presents its amino-terminal end at the extra-cellular surface of the human red blood cell and precursor cells. It has been shown that glycophorins act as the receptor for Sandei virus and parvovirus.
