K14MycER mouse

Gene/Protein Targets

c-Myc protooncogene (Myc) fused with estrogen receptor (ER)

Relevance: In vivo study of Myc activation in skin; in vivo study of skin cell proliferation & differentiation (sebocytes, epidermis)
Model Type: Transgenic Models
Genetic Background: CBA x C57BL/6
Zygosity: Heterozygous
Phenotype Keywords: Skin abnormalities
Disease Keywords:
Production Details:

A MycER transgenic vector, containing a c-Myc-2 cDNA fused to the hormone-binding domain of a mutant mouse estragen receptor under the control of the keratin 14 promoter, was injected into fertilised CBA/C57BL6 ooctyes. Founders were backcrossed to establish transgenic lines.
