Terms & Conditions of Use (Mouse & Cell Lines)

1. Supply of Mouse Models & Cell Lines

Cell lines will be supplied to you as frozen ampoules, stored in 20% FCS and 10% DMSO in the relevant growth media. Recovery and growth requirement instructions will be provided with each cell line.

Mouse models can be supplied to you as frozen embryos, or as frozen sperm (where available), for implantation into surrogate female mice (or fertilisation of oocytes and implantation).

2. General Terms of Use of Mouse Models & Cell Lines

Research Use only General Terms

Mouse models and cell lines can be licensed to you for use in research and development activities. This excludes:

  • Any right for the provision of contract research service for cash or other consideration using the product, or any right to sublicence the product.
  • Any in vivo use in human subjects, or use as or in diagnostics or therapeutics.

Contract Research Service Provision

Mouse models and cell lines can be licensed to you for use in the provision of contract research services to third parties for cash or other consideration. This excludes:

  • Any right to sublicence the product.
  • Any in vivo use in human subjects, or use as or in diagnostics or therapeutics.

Sublicensing

Mouse models and cell lines can be licensed to you for sublicensing to third parties. This excludes:

  • Any right for the provision of contract research service for cash or other consideration using the product.
  • Any in vivo use in human subjects, or use as or in diagnostics or therapeutics.

3. Pricing of Mouse Models and Cell Lines

Mouse models and cell lines requested by a not-for-profit research institute or laboratory for use in not-for-profit research and development may be supplied under a Material Transfer Agreement. A selection of cell lines are available from the HPA.

Mouse models and cell lines requested by a profit-making research company or laboratory for use in research and development, or provision of contract research services, or sublicensing, will be supplied under a licence agreement. Pricing of mouse models and cell lines is determined by the intended field of use.
